Switches
A switch creates a network segment between itself and each of the nodes connected to it. It then forwards packets coming from a node to the proper node on the switch creating a virtual circuit to send the packet through. This allows each node to transmit at the same time allowing for full duplex Ethernet which is not available in hub based network as each node shares the same segment and only one can speak at a time. HardData carries everything from low-end switches for small offices to big switches for much bigger networks. For our high-end switches, we carry Force10. Force10's switches use quick layer two switching to provide a low-latency solution. With more than adequate switch fabric, the E600 gives you lots of bandwidth to work with on those large GigE networks. For Mid-range solutions, we have Extreme Networks, HP and 3COM. Dlink switches round out our low-end models.
